Can I choose the store I work in?

Answer:
No. QuikTrip will assign you to a store that best meets your abilities and that has an opening for full time / part time employment. Every effort will be made to assign you to a location that is reasonably close to where you live.

Question:
Will I have to work weekends and holidays?

Answer:
Yes. QuikTrip stores are always open, and that means most store team members will work on weekends. All Store Managers and First Assistant Managers are off on weekends. That's the reward for doing your job well and earning promotions.

If your normally scheduled shift falls on a holiday, you will work and earn time and a half for most holidays, with double-time pay for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

How often do we get paid?

Answer:
Everyone in full time / part time employment is paid weekly. Store profit and customer service bonuses are paid monthly.

Question:
How long does it take to get promoted?

Answer:
It depends on available full time or part time employment and on your performance. The typical time frame for advancement from the Second Assistant position to Store Manager is five years. All store and division operations positions are filled from internal promotions.

What do I have to do to get promoted?

Answer:
A number of factors are evaluated in employment. Key factors in employment performance are customer service, attendance, cash and inventory accuracy, customer service, teamwork, customer service, work pace and of course, customer service.

Will I get a meal break?

Answer:
QuikTrip people have developed a real talent for eating on the run. Although our stores are very busy, there's usually time to grab something to eat as long as you don't wait on customers with your mouth full.

Question:
What is your dress code?

Answer:
Ties and silly hats are forbidden. Store team members need to be fashionable and comfortable. QuikTrip provides free shirts to new full time / part time employees. Khaki slacks and shorts are available at cost. We are pretty picky about the appearance of the employees who wait on our customers. No beards, goatees, visible tattoos, body piercing or tongue posts while employed at QuikTrip full time / part time.

Question:
Will I have to work a lot of overtime?

Answer:
Clerks, Assistants and Managers are required to work only their normally scheduled full time / part time shifts. QuikTrip staffs additional relief employment  to fill in when people are sick or on vacation. Extra full time / part time shifts are occasionally available for those who want to volunteer for additional overtime work. Of course, all hours worked over 40 during a week are paid at time-and-a-half.
